ARTIST STATEMENT
I am a conceptual artist aiming to unify the creative philosophies of Lucio Fontana, Agostino Bonalumi, and Zilia Sánchez by merging painting (2-D) and sculpture (3-D) using the two dimensional surface of the canvas as the most logical building block in achieving such a goal. The theoretical 2.5 dimension—the bridge between two and three dimensions—can be achieved (intellectually and visually) through layers, optical illusion, real objects, and relevant, topmost color contrast. Generally, my art which celebrates science, creativity, and excellence also deals with temporary issues that should help enrich and deepen our thoughts in understanding our reality [“Cogito, ergo sum,” Rene Descartes’s first principle], it relates to how being alive now on earth will lead us together to viable solutions to attend all contemporary pressing and critical issues.
ARTIST BIO
Adrian Panaitisor was born in Bucharest, Romania. he holds a BFA degree from UCONN, and a BS degree from McB Naval Academy, Romania. Adrian is an artist and educator with decades of experience, and he has exhibited extensively in the US and Europe. He's the founder of the Art eScool and ArtPill blog, and co-founder of the Romanian Artist Connection (RoArtConn) group. In 2016, Adrian became a full-time artist living in West Hartford, CT. In March-August 2024, Adrian was granted residency at the Ely Center of Contemporary Art, New Haven, CT that culminated with the 2024 Summer Art Exhibition show. He is the curator of the "5ive Perspectives" exhibition at the Chen Art Gallery, CCSU, New Britain, CT and the "Meanders" exhibition at the Silpe Art Gallery, UHART of May-June 2025.
