I’m Helen Ellis a Jersey girl now living in New England. Raised in Newark, NJ aka “Brick City” I attended Newark Arts High School as a fine arts major. I took additional art instruction at Rutgers University in Newark. After a long hiatus from my work while raising my kids, I returned to my easels with fervor in 2018. My artwork fosters a celebration of African American history and culture. I’ve been honored to have my work shown publicly in NJ, CT, NY, MA, MD, NC and CA.
