Sylvia Sarzynska is a self-taught Polish Contemporary Abstract artist based in the United States.

Born in Poland, Sarzynska came to U.S. in 1987. Her artistic career can be traced back to early childhood when she discovered her love for art form. In college, Sarzynska’s artistic pursuits lead to a degree in Fine Art/Graphic Design, which lead to a job at an Advertising Agency where she spent several years sharpening her craft. It didn’t take long for Sylvia to boomerang back to her true passion for fine art.

Sarzynska first discovered Georgia O’Keeffe’s work and truly was taken by O’Keeffe’s large-scale dynamic florals. With a fascination for the floral form and an instinct to capture it somehow on canvas, with a knack for drawing and whirlwind of possibilities in her head, she admits she found inspiration in unexpected places. Her artistic trademark is to capture the timeless, yet elegant and delicate feel of the flower allowing the viewer to better identify with each painting.
Over the years, Sylvia has been driving her paintings in an innovative new direction that is really beginning to show who she wants to become as an artist. After extensive research and experimentation with color and texture, she has found herself drawn to the Contemporary Style Abstract painting which she associates with her own experiences, feelings in time, however she loves the anonymity this creates for the viewer and the subject alike to convey emotion. People will leave the piece with different ideas and feelings and she likes having that kind of flexibility in her work.
As of late her strongest inspirations derived from her personal experience is the female form which dove her into the idea of creating almost 3D like female torsos. The new pieces allow her to convey texture, design and abstraction with a freedom she has never known until now. She has fallen in love with the expression the pieces create. Female form has the ability to be empowering and beautiful.
