David Michael James Brewer is a Hartford born aspiring artist, 4th of 9 children. He began heavy construction work with siblings at age 13 "dirt, diesel and sweat". His maternal grandfather's devout faith has been an influence on Brewer's artwork merged with conceptual training at the Hartford Art School at the University of Hartford under the auspices of Dean Hanson. Brewer melds his technical prowess and failures, to invite consciousness into our existential bones to illuminate religious and societal ironies. The present works are meant to engage the viewer in these questions.
