Artist Statement/Mission

MANY OF THE GOODS WE USE EVERY DAY are shipped to merchants on pallets. Once these goods are delivered, the pallets most often are thrown into landfills or stacked up behind businesses and left to rot.

FRESH START PALLET PRODUCTS is a community initiative conceived and coordinated by Grace Lutheran Church in Hartford, Connecticut. We create employment and training opportunities for economically disadvantaged area residents by utilizing the wood from discarded shipping pallets to produce attractive, sturdy and affordable furniture for home and garden.
